Welcome to Deerfield School, home of the Deerfield Bulldog and a place that I have called my home for 30 years.  As the proud principal of Deerfield School, I am lucky to work together with an amazing staff and supportive parents that help create a strong educational community for our students.  

Educationally, we, as a Millburn public elementary school are proud to be at the forefront of every educational discipline. Our balanced literacy program allows students to work at their own pace while achieving high standards in both reading and writing. Our Math In Focus program with its focus on advanced problem solving and application of mathematical concepts allows students not only to use numbers but to apply them to real life situations. Related arts, STEM education and Social Sciences are all part of the strong elementary educational program for our students.

One of the cornerstones of our program is character education. Our Paw Power teaches students to be kind even when no one is looking, to do good things for others and to do good things for the world around us. We extend our paw pride to every aspect of our day from the classroom to the playground and we expect our students to learn and grow together as a community of learners.

We extend the school day in a variety of ways throughout the year so that we can come together as the Deerfield community. Our supportive PTO hosts events from BINGO night to International Night, helping our students to learn to be proud of who they are as individuals and also who they are when united as Deerfield bulldogs.

It is an honor to be principal of Deerfield School, a school that makes me proud, every single day.
